Ribbon Cutting and Last Day of Class

Even though we had not yet been given approval from NCDOT to break ground, we finished up the 10 weeks with a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the very near completion of the project and the amazing team that worked on it.  Many of our supporters, partners, family members and community members showed up to mark the end of the 10 week class and say a big thank you to the Asheville Design Center and the 2013 Design Build team.  Most of the students have now left town and are either getting ready for school at their respective universities or figuring out their next steps.  We are now awaiting final permitting approval with hopes of breaking ground this coming week.  Once the foundations are poured, a crane will drop the entire bridge in place, hopefully by the end of August.  Stay tuned, it will be an exciting ending! (thanks to Pattiy Torno for the pics!)
